The Court declined to interfere with the NGT’s order holding that a landlord, being the owner and not the actual occupier of the premises, cannot be held accountable for environmental violations by the tenant.

The respondent expressed remorse and tenders an apology, undertakes that in future he will ensure maintenance of proper decorum of the Court and volunteered to undertake social service.
“Private Respondents are free to reuse generic beer bottles manufactured by third parties which do not violate the label, trademark/brand/logo of another entity.”
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva will begin to perform the duties of Acting CJ consequent upon appointment of Justice Sheel Nagu, as the 66th Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
