The Judges were recommended for elevation by the Collegium on 25-8-2025 and in a record display of speed, the Ministry of Law and Justice confirmed the recommendations on 27-8-2025.
The Supreme Court Collegium on 25-8-2025, recommended the appointed of the 2 High Court Chief Justices as Supreme Court Judges.
At present, the working strength of the Supreme Court is at 32 Judges, if the recommendations are confirmed, then the Court will function at its full strength of 34 Judges.
The Supreme Court Collegium on 7-1-2025 had recommended the transfer of Justice Aradhe to Bombay High Court.
Justice Alok Aradhe was sworn in as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court on 23-07-2023 by the Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. He succeeded Justice Ujjal Bhuyan who has been elevated as a Judge in the Supreme Court of India. Justice Aradhe has formerly served as Judge in Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh High Courts.
The Seven Supreme Court collegium resolutions were passed on 05-07-2023.
