Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal highlighted the need to balance the use of artificial intelligence in arbitration with human judgment, while Justice M. R. Shah stressed that AI should not replace the human mind.
The two-day summit will explore Artificial Intelligence, Online Dispute Resolution arbitration, mediation and cross-border dispute resolution, with a focus on building an innovative, secure and technology-enabled ADR ecosystem in India and beyond.
The collaboration combined MNLU Mumbai’s strengths in law and criminal-justice research with NFSU’s specialised capabilities in forensic science, forensic justice, digital forensics, cyber security and scientific investigation.
IDDRC was inaugurated on 27 February 2026 by Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India, in the presence of Shri Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat, and Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice of the High Court of Gujarat.
