The Collegium recommendations follow the elevation of three High Court Chief Justices to the Supreme Court in October 2026.
The President appoints Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak and Justice Puthichira Sam Koshy as Acting Chief Justices of the Delhi, Gujarat and Telangana High Courts under Article 223 of the Constitution.
The President has appointed Justices Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Sunita Agarwal and Aparesh Kumar Singh as Judges of the Supreme Court, following the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendations dated 28 September 2026.
Justice Pathak’s transfer from Orissa High Court to Gujarat High Court was recommended by the Collegium on 6 August 2026.
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak to the Gujarat High Court and Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra to the Chhattisgarh High Court.
