Diva Dynamics 3.0, organized by the Centre for Women Development, UILS (2025-2026), from 5th to 12th March 2026, featured a dynamic lineup of 9 engaging events, fostering creativity, collaboration, and active student participation. The series brought vibrancy to campus life and saw enthusiastic involvement throughout. The event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS and Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator.

The event was led by President Ruhani, Convenor Maan Kaur, Co-Convenors Varsha and Harleen, with guidance from Advisory Members Jhanvi and Lakshay, whose collective efforts ensured its seamless execution.

 

INAUGRAL RUN

 

Centre for Women Development, UILS kickstarts Women’s Week Celebration “Diva Dynamics 3.0” with INAUGURAL RUN in collaboration with Sports Committee UILS.

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies, in collaboration with the Sports Committee, UILS, on 5th March, 2026, organized the INAUGURAL RUN under the aegis of “DIVA DYNAMICS 3.0” at the UILS campus. The event marked the commencement of Diva Dynamics Week, a special series of activities celebrating International Women’s Day.

With the powerful slogan, “Run for Strength. Run for Equality. Run for Her”, the run aimed to promote fitness, unity, and gender equality while symbolically taking a collective step forward towards resilience and women’s leadership. Participants reported at 6:30 AM and enthusiastically joined the run, reflecting solidarity and commitment towards the cause of empowerment.

The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, whose vibrant energy set an inspiring tone for the week-long celebrations. The initiative sought to encourage awareness, inclusivity, and collective responsibility in fostering a more equitable society.

The competition featured separate categories for male and female participants. In the female category, Shivangi Shandil secured the first position, followed by Sanskriti Mohil in second place and Jhanvi Malhotra in third place. In the male category, Gurpratap secured the First Position, with Krish and Inderjit bagging the Second and Third place, respectively.

The winners and participants alike, were felicitated by Dr. Sunny Sharma, Faculty Incharge, Sports Committee, and Dr. Anupam Bahri recognizing the achievements of the winners and the enthusiastic participation of the runners. As a thoughtful and sustainable gesture, all participants were also presented with seed saplings, symbolizing growth, resilience, and the nurturing of a greener and more empowered future.

INKED IN LAW: ESSAY WRITING AND PRESENTATION COMPETITION

Centre for Women Development, UILS, Hosts “INKED IN LAW — Essay Writing & Presentation Competition”

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), UILS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, successfully organized “INKED IN LAW — Essay Writing & Presentation Competition”, in hybrid mode with the offline presentation on 5th March 2026. The event, at its core aimed to encourage students to think critically and pen their ideas in an essay, with a special focus on women, which proved to be quite successful.

The competition invited participants from various colleges and universities to submit essays on the theme revolving around the 3-Year Practice Rule in Judiciary and its impact on Women. Shortlisted participants were further invited to present their ideas and arguments before the distinguished panel, which consisted of AAG Manmeet Singh Teji, AAG, Punjab, Adv. Sakshi Aggarwal, and Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator, CWD. The results of the same were released on 6th March, 2026. First position in the competition was secured by Anhad Kaur, followed by Minisha Wasson at second position and Parth Goel at third position. m

The event provided a platform for young scholars to articulate their perspectives on law, gender, and justice while also honing their research, writing, and public speaking skills. The presentations witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who presented well-researched arguments and insightful perspectives on the given theme.

Leading with Courage: CWD—UILS Hosts Inspiring Women’s Day Session with IPS Officer Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh on 6th March 2026, organized an interactive session titled “She Leads — She Protects” at the Moot Court Hall as part of the Diva Dynamics 3.0 celebrations in the lead-up to International Women’s Day. The session aimed to celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women who contribute significantly to shaping institutions and safeguarding society.

The event was graced by Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh Police, as the Chief Guest, who shared her experiences in public service and emphasized the importance of courage, discipline, and integrity in leadership. She encouraged students to pursue their ambitions with determination while contributing meaningfully to society.

The session was graciously presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Meenakshi Goyal, Director, Research & Development Cell, Panjab University, while Prof. (Dr.) Namita Gupta, Dean, Student Welfare, Panjab University, attended as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries highlighted the importance of empowering women and fostering inclusive spaces for their growth and leadership.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who actively engaged in discussions and interactions, making the session both insightful and inspiring.

TREASURE HUNT

The Centre for Women Development at Panjab University organized an exciting Treasure Hunt on March 9, 2026, at 11:30 AM as part of its vibrant Diva Dynamics 3.0 celebrations on account of International Women’s Day. The event brought together students from across the university for a thrilling experience that combined strategy, teamwork, and a spirit of adventure.

A total of 20 teams, each consisting of 2—5 members, participated enthusiastically in the competition. The treasure hunt transformed the Panjab University campus into an arena of clues, puzzles, and challenges, where participants raced against time while decoding riddles and navigating through various checkpoints.

The program was meticulously coordinated by the Centre for Women Development, under the guidance of our esteemed Director Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi who supported the idea and led as a beacon of excellence. Under the able leadership of Faculty Coordinator Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bahri, Teacher Coordinators Ms. Arshwinder, Dr. Arti, and Ms. Saranjeet the event turned out to be a grand success. President Ruhani, Convenor Maan Kaur, and Co-Convenors Varsha and Harleen along with event heads Raj Shikhar, Gurnoorvir Singh and Aashi ensured the smooth execution of the Treasure Hunt.

There were three teams that emerged as the winners of the competition. And they consisted of the following participants;

2nd– Prabhjot Kaur, Maitreyee, Ridhi Garg, Babneet Kaur

3rd– Isha, Lovish Khurana, Parth Goel, Jashan Kaler, Ritesh Padda

The event was designed to promote collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while also providing students with an opportunity to engage in a fun and dynamic activity outside the classroom.

FLIP THE COIN: DEBATE COMPETITION

 

CWD, UILS Hosts Electrifying Flip the Coin Debate Competition as a part of Diva Dynamics 3.0

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, on 10th March 2026 organized the Flip the Coin Debate Competition at the Moot Court Hall, UILS, as part of the ongoing Diva Dynamics 3.0 celebrations. The competition brought together bright young debaters to test their spontaneity, analytical skills, and ability to argue from multiple perspectives.

The competition witnessed participation from 30 participants representing various colleges and universities, making it a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange. Conducted in a turncoat style format, participants were required to argue both for and against the motion, often switching their stance mid-speech based on the sound of the buzzer.

The competition was adjudged by an esteemed panel of judges comprising Adv. Vibhuti Nakta, Assistant Professor, Department of Laws, and Dr. Sunny Sharma, Assistant Professor, UILS for the first round and Mr. Praveen Kumar, Deputy Advocate General, Haryana, and Ms. Pragya Singh, IRS, Executive Director, Footwear Design and Development Institute, Chandigarh, for the final round, whose insightful observations and feedback added immense value to the proceedings.

The event witnessed spirited rounds of argumentation, with participants demonstrating remarkable clarity of thought, persuasive oratory, and quick adaptability, with Maitreyee, Gurleen, and Nipun emerging as winners securing first, second and third position respectively.

MONOLOGUE AND MONOACTING COMPETITION

“She Speaks: Voices that Refuse to be Silent” — CWD, UILS Hosts Monologue and Monoact Competition as a part of DIVA DYNAMICS 3.0 to Mark International Women’s Day.

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized the Monologue and Monoact Competition titled NarItive “She Speaks: Voices that Refuse to be Silent” on 11th March 2026 at the Moot Court Hall, UILS, as part of the Diva Dynamics 3.0 celebrations commemorating International Women’s Day. The event provided a powerful platform for participants to bring forth stories of courage, resistance, and identity through compelling solo performances.

Through their performances, participants embodied the spirit of the theme by portraying voices that challenge silence, question societal norms, and celebrate resilience, making the stage a space for reflection as well as empowerment.

Each performance unfolded as a short yet impactful act, allowing participants to present intense and expressive monologues that captured the audience’s attention. The acts were presented in multiple languages, reflecting the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the participants while adding richness and depth to the performances.

The competition was adjudged by an esteemed panel of judges comprising Dr. Sumedha Singh, Assistant Professor, School of Communication Studies, and Mr. Navpreet Singh, Research Officer, District Language Office, Bathinda, whose thoughtful observations and constructive feedback added great value to the event. The winners adjudicated for the event were Navleen, Vaidehi, and Samiksha securing first, second and third position respectively

“She Leads — The Change”: CWD, UILS Concludes Diva Dynamics 3.0 with Interactive Session and Valedictory Ceremony

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized “She Leads — The Change,” an Interactive Session followed by the Valedictory Ceremony, on 12th March 2026 at the Moot Court Hall, UILS, marking the culmination of Diva Dynamics 3.0, an initiative commemorating the spirit of International Women’s Day.

The highlight of the programme was the interactive address delivered by Ms. Ghazalpreet Kaur, IPS, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Punjab Police, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Through her interaction with the audience, she shared valuable insights from her professional journey and emphasized the importance of determination, courage, and integrity in leadership.

The occasion was also graced by Prof. (Dr.) Anju Suri, Coordinator, Institute of Social Science Education and Research (ISSER), Panjab University, and Prof. Sonal Chawla, Director, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Computer Centre, Panjab University, who attended as the Guests of Honour and added depth to the session through their encouraging presence.

The programme also witnessed the Valedictory Ceremony of Diva Dynamics 3.0, during which the winners of various competitions conducted throughout the event series, including the online competitions, were felicitated and recognized for their achievements and participation, with Mehak Kaur, Shivangi Shandil and Garisha emerging as winners for the Policy Drafting Competition “Lex Scripta”.

The event was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS, whose continued encouragement supports initiatives that promote dialogue, empowerment, and leadership among students. The programme was organized under the overall coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator, CWD, whose guidance played a significant role in the successful culmination of the event. WOMEN THROUGH MY LENS- ONLINE PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized the award ceremony for the photography competition “Women Through My Lens” on 16th March 2026 at UILS as part of the Diva Dynamics 3.0 celebrations marking the spirit of International Women’s Day. The competition encouraged students to capture the strength, resilience, and diverse experiences of women through photography.

The winners of the competition were Prabhjot (1st place), Bhawna Singla (2nd place), and Neha Sharma (3rd place), whose entries stood out for their creativity and powerful visual storytelling.

The programme was organized under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS, and Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator, CWD. The event was further supervised by the Teacher Coordinators, Ms. Manisha, Ms. Priyanka Goyal, and Ms. Avneet Minhas.

The successful execution of the ceremony was ensured through the dedicated efforts of the Student Coordinators, Ruhani (President), Maan Kaur (Convenor), and Harleen and Varsha (Co-Convenors), along with the Event Heads, Shuchi and Kamna, whose coordination contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the programme.

“Lex Scripta”: ONLINE POLICY DRAFTING COMPETITION

CWD, UILS Conducts Online Policy Drafting Competition as Part of DIVA DYNAMICS 3.0

The Centre for Women Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, successfully organized “Lex Scripta”, an Online Policy Drafting Competition, as part of DIVA DYNAMICS 3.0 The event aimed to provide a platform for students to engage in critical thinking and policy formulation while addressing contemporary socio-legal issue on theme “Reimagining Gig Work: Wage Security and Dignity for Women.” The event being conducted in online mode, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various educational institutions who showcased their analytical abilities, drafting skills, and understanding of policy frameworks. The winners for event, were Mehak Kaur, Shivangi shandil, and Garisha ,who were felicitated at Valedictory ceremony.The event was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS, Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator, CWD, Teacher Coordinators, Dr. Rabia Gund and Ms. Tanya Singh , along with Student Coordinators Ruhani (President), Maan Kaur (Convenor), Harleen and Varsha (Co-Convenors), and the Event Head,Khushi Chhabra and Disha Jain, whose collective efforts ensured the smooth and engaging execution of the competition.

It stood as a testament to the commitment of UILS towards fostering legal acumen, research, and policy-oriented thinking among students and, concluded on a successful note, leaving participants enriched with knowledge and inspired to contribute towards meaningful policy development.
