Supreme Court Collegium recommends transfer of 2 Orissa High Court Judges to Gujarat and Chhattisgarh High Courts

The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 6 August 2026, has recommended the transfer of two Judges of the Orissa High Court, namely Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak and Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra, to the High Courts of Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, respectively.

Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak, whose parent High Court is the Gauhati High Court, is presently serving as a Judge of the High Court of Orissa. He joined the High Court of Orissa on transfer from the Gauhati High Court on 21 July 2025. The Collegium has now recommended his transfer from the High Court of Orissa to the Gujarat High Court.

Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra, presently a Judge of the High Court of Orissa, has been recommended for transfer to the High Court of Chhattisgarh. The recommendation concerning Justice Mohapatra has also been reported following the Collegium’s decision.

The recommendations will take effect upon their acceptance and issuance of the requisite notification by the competent authority.
