On 9 October 2016, the President in exercise of powers under Article 222(1) of the Constitution, transferred Justice T. Vinod Kumar from Madras High Court to Telangana High Court.
On 28 September 2026, the Supreme Court Collegium led by CJI Surya Kant, had recommended the repatriation of Justice T. Vinod Kumar to his parent High Court of the State of Telangana. The decision was taken in view of his ensuing retirement on 16 November 2026.
Justice T. Vinod Kumar was transferred to Madras High Court on 14 July 2025.
