On 3 July 2026, the Appointments Division, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, notified the appointment of three Additional Judges to the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
As per the notification, the President of India, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 224(1), Constitution of India, appointed the following as Additional Judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices:

Purushottam Kumar Chintalapudi @ Ch. Purushottama Kumar
The appointments give effect to the recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, in its meeting held on 4 May 2026. In the said meeting, the Collegium recommended the appointment of several Advocates and Judicial Officers as Judges of the High Courts of Punjab and Haryana and Andhra Pradesh. Among them, Sunitha Gandham, Alapati Giridhar and Purushottam Kumar Chintalapudi were recommended for appointment as Judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
