Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) hosted a roundtable on 27 August 2026 in collaboration with RPC Premier Law, bringing together representatives from technology and infrastructure businesses, in-house legal and policy teams, and private practice across India and Singapore.
The discussion focused on the challenges businesses are facing as technology regulations across the region continue to diverge rather than converge.
The roundtable was moderated by Shashank Mishra and followed a keynote address by Justice (Retd.) Ravindra Bhat, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India. He served as Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, and as a judge of the Delhi High Court, one of India’s principal forums for intellectual property and technology disputes. He has been a fundamental part of shaping India’s jurisprudence on technology and was among the earliest voices for a judiciary that works with technology rather than only adjudicating on it, having led the digitisation of case management at the Delhi High Court. Justice Bhat spoke on “Conflicts of the future: how evolving cross-border technologies would impact business relationships.”
Other distinguished speakers included Shally Bhasin, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.; Ankit Goyal, RPC Premier Law; Puja Sondhi, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.; Sumyutha Sivamani, RPC Premier Law; Nadine Martino, Spruson & Ferguson; Hemant Krishna, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.; Joshua Woo, Perfraction; Tanvi Sinha, Amazon; Jeremiah Chew, RPC Premier Law; Debabrata Dutt, TCS; Byron Karuppiah, Ahrefs; Rikhab Chand, IBM; and Pratyush Rao, Telenor.

Interesting discussion on how technology regulations are moving in different directions across India and Singapore. Cross-border businesses definitely have a lot to keep up with.
