Madras High Court: A Division Bench of Dr Vineet Kothari and R. Suresh Kumar, JJ. addressed a petition seeking writ of mandamus in order to direct Respondents by providing Kabasura Kashayam a siddha medicine for COVID-19 affected patients for boosting their immunity and to provide as a preventive vaccine to the citizens of Tamil Nadu for mass eradication of COVID-19 in all primary health centres.

In the present petition its has been prayed that the above stated Siddha Medicine should be provided to the COVID-19 patients which is a part of Siddha Medical Treatment.

Additional Advocate General submitted that in light of the Central Governments guidelines issued on 01-04-2020 with regard to constitution of Special Task Force, Technical Committee headed by Health Secretary will consider the representations as made in the present petition.

Thus, Court disposed of the petition while directing the same to be considered by the Technical Committee, headed by Health Secretary. [P.A. Joseph v. State of T.N.,  2020 SCC OnLine Mad 899, decided on 03-04-2020]
