The President, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 217(1) and Article 224(1) of the Constitution of India, has appointed 22 persons as Judges and Additional Judges of the Madras, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh High Courts. The appointments were notified by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, through separate notifications dated 7 August 2026.
Five Advocates, namely Krishnaswamy Govindarajan, Rajnish Pathiyil, Natarajan Ramesh, G.K. Muthukumaar and Ramakrishnan Rajesh Vivekananthan, have been appointed as Judges of the Madras High Court. Their appointments take effect from the date on which they assume charge of their respective offices.
Ten persons have been appointed as Additional Judges of the Madras High Court. Sankaranarayanan Raveekumar, Nagarajan Dilip Kumar, Ellappan Manoharan, Dr. P. Murugan, M.D. Sumathi, Shanmugam Karthikeyan, Baluchamy Murugesan and N. Gunasekaran have been appointed for a period of two years from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
S. Alli has been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court with effect from the date she assumes charge of her office till 10 June 2028, while Thirumagal Chandrasekar has been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court with effect from the date she assumes charge till 4 August 2028.

The President has also appointed Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa, Hema Kulkarni, Subramanya Rangarao, Thadagavadi Prakash Vivekananda, Bakkeswara Pramod and Hombe Gowda Shanthi Bhushan as Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court for a period of two years from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
Further, Amit Lahoti has been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court for a period of two years from the date he assumes charge of his office.
