Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Appointment of 9 Judicial Officers and 10 Advocates as Madras HC Judges

On 18 May 2026, the Supreme Court Collegium led by CJI Surya Kant, approved the proposals dated 4 November 2025, 21 November 2025, 7 December 2025 and 10 December 2025, for appointment of 9 judicial officers and 10 advocates as Madras High Court Judges. The recommended names are as follows:

As of 1 May 2026, Madras High Court has working strength is 52 Judges as against the sanctioned judges’ strength of 75 and has 23 vacancies.¹
