On 18-8-2025, the President of India in exercise of powers under Article 224 (1) of the Constitution, appointed Judicial Officer Ramesh Kumari, as Additional Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court from the date she assumes charge of her office till 09-06-2027 i.e. the date of her superannuation on attaining the age of 62 years.
On 7-8-2025, the Supreme Court Collegium led by CJI B.R. Gavai, recommended the appointment of Ramesh Kumari, Judicial Officer, as a Judge of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana.
At present, Punjab and Haryana High Court, whose sanctioned strength of Judges is 85, has a vacancy of 36 Judges. Current working strength of the High Court is 49. With the latest appointment, the current working strength of the High Court will rise to 50 Judges.
