The Faculty has organised a One-day Workshop on Cyber Security, Forensics and Human Rights on 26th September,2026. The Speakers for this workshop were Prof. Atul Kumar Pandey (Professor, NLIU Bhopal) and Mr. Venkatesh Murti (Vice-President, Data Security Council of India). The event was inaugurated by the Head and Dean, Faculty of Law and was chaired by Ms. Namrita Shrivastava, Addl. SP, Varanasi as the guest of honour.
Around 250 students participated in the workshop and had a very interactive session throughout. The session commenced with the inaugural ceremony with the lighting of lamp and kulgeet followed by a welcome address by our Head and Dean, Prof.(Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Singh. He enlightened the students with his knowledge and inspired them to engage more in such diverse ways of learning, like seminars interacting with the experts and exploring new paradigms.
His address was followed by the felicitation and address of our guest of Honour, Ms. Namrita Shrivastava, Addl. SP, Varanasi. She inspired the gathering with her practical experiences solving cybercrimes and spreading awareness among the youth upon the poseable dangers of misuse of electronic media and solutions that might help one to save themselves from such imminent danger. Her address focused on the practical aspects of cybercrime through the lens of her working experience.
Her address was followed by the felicitation of our Speakers, Prof. Atul Kumar Pandey, Professor and Chairperson, Rajiv Gandhi National Cyber Law Center, NLIU Bhopal and Mr. Venkatesh Murti, Vice-President, Data Security Council of India and the felicitation was followed by the news of empanelment of 4 new advocates for the Legal Aid Clinic. The inaugural was concluded by the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Mayank Pratap, Professor and Organising Secretary. The Seminar was divided into 3 major sessions, followed by a QnA Session. The Session 1 and 3 titled ” Cyber Security: Regulatory Paradigm” and ” DPDP Act, 2023 and Cyber Security: Data Breach, Consent and Corporate Liability” respectively were presided by Prof. Atul Kumar Pandey and the Session 2 titled “Role of Digital Forensics in Investigation” was chaired by Mr. Venkatesh Murti.
The seminar was concluded with the concluding note of Prof. G.P. Sahoo.
