At the 9th EBC-SCC Online Student Ambassador Conclave 2026, Senior Advocate, Delhi High Court, Mr. Sanjoy Ghose delivered an engaging Guest of Honour Address titled “Beyond Law School: Lessons for a Lifetime in Law.” Drawing from nearly three decades of experience in the legal profession, Mr. Ghose spoke about the lessons that young lawyers and law students must carry beyond the classroom. From the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence on legal research and the importance of verifying AI-generated material, to the enduring value of precision, meticulousness and credibility, the address examines how young lawyers can distinguish themselves in an increasingly competitive profession. He also reflected on the importance of patience in building a legal career, the need to continuously unlearn and relearn after law school, and why humility and strong professional relationships remain essential to legal practice.

The address concludes with a powerful message for the next generation of lawyers: do not be afraid to have a view, express it, face disagreement and preserve your individuality. In an age of AI, the ability to think, reason, feel and exercise judgment remains central to what makes us human.
