SC Collegium recommends appointment of Judicial Officers and Advocates as Judges of 3 High Courts

On 18 August 2026, the Supreme Court Collegium headed by CJI Surya Kant, recommended the appointment of several Judicial Officers and Advocates as Judges for three High Courts.

The recommended names are as follows:

Chhattisgarh High Court

The following Judicial Officers’ names were recommended for appointment as Judges of Chhattisgarh High Court:

1. Santosh Sharma

2. Sushma Sawant

3. Sudhir Kumar

Gauhati High Court

The following names were recommended for Judgeship at Gauhati High Court

1. Nchumbemo Mozhui, Advocate, was recommended for appointment as Judge

2. Helen Dawngliani, Judicial Officer, was recommended for appointment as Judge

Orissa High Court

The following advocates were recommended for appointment as Judges:

1. Advocate Sasmita Tripathy

2. Advocate Aditya Narayan Das

3. Advocate Rajjeet Roy
