MANUU Law School has opened registrations for its First International Client Counselling Competition, 2026, offering law students an opportunity to strengthen practical advocacy, counselling, and legal problem-solving skills through simulated client interactions.

About the Opportunity

MANUU Law School is organizing the First International Client Counselling Competition, 2026.

The competition seeks to simulate a real-time law office consultation, wherein participating teams interview a client, identify legal and factual issues, analyse potential courses of action, and provide structured legal advice. The objective is to cultivate essential lawyering skills such as client interviewing, legal analysis, ethical reasoning, teamwork, and professional communication.

The competition will be conducted in four rounds:

  • Preliminary Round

  • Quarter Final

  • Semi-Final

  • Final Round

The Preliminary and Quarter Final Rounds will be conducted online, while the Semi-Final and Final Rounds will be held offline at MANUU, Hyderabad.

Theme

The problem for the competition shall be based on any or the entire spectrum of laws, including:

  • Public International Law

  • AI & Law

  • Constitutional Law

  • Criminal Law

  • Labour Law

  • Administrative Law

  • Company Law

  • Family Law

  • Other allied areas of law relevant to the theme

Eligibility

  • Students enrolled in three-year or five-year LL.B. degree programmes from recognized Universities/Law Schools/Colleges are eligible to participate.

  • Each team shall consist of two participants only (Counsel 1 and Counsel 2).

  • Only one team per institution shall be permitted.

  • A maximum of 20 teams shall be selected on a first-come-first-serve basis (subject to extension at the discretion of the Organizing Committee).

Registration Fee

The registration fee is ₹2,000/- per team.

The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration shall be confirmed only upon receipt of payment and submission of payment acknowledgment.

Prizes

  • Winner: ₹20,000/- along with Memento and Certificate

  • Runner-Up: ₹10,000/- along with Memento and Certificate

  • Best Counsel (Male): ₹5,000/- along with Memento and Certificate

  • Best Counsel (Female): ₹5,000/- along with Memento and Certificate

  • Certificates of Participation shall be awarded to all participants

Important Dates

  • Registration Opens: 25 June 2026

  • Registration Closes: 10 August 2026

  • Release of Client Counselling Problem: 21 August 2026

  • Preliminary & Quarter Final Rounds (Online): 22 August 2026

  • Semi-Final & Final Rounds (Offline at MANUU, Hyderabad): 20 September 2026

Registration Process

  1. Fill out the online registration form.

  2. Pay the registration fee of ₹2,000/- per team.

  3. Upload payment proof along with the registration form.

  4. Upon successful verification, a Team Code will be allotted within 48 hours.

Selection is strictly on a first-come-first-serve basis.
