On 17 June 2026, the Ministry of Women and Child Development announced the launch of SHe-Box 2.0, marking a significant step towards creating a safe, inclusive, and empowered environment for women across the country.
About SHe-Box:
The Government has undertaken a series of structural and policy interventions in recent years to improve women’s safety, dignity, and participation in all sectors. A key focus has been on ensuring safe and secure workplaces, which are essential for promoting women’s economic empowerment and enabling their sustained participation in the workforce.
In this direction, Mission Shakti, the Government’s flagship programme for women’s safety and empowerment, provides an integrated framework for convergence of schemes and strengthening institutional mechanisms. The mission emphasizes better governance, improved accessibility, and the effective use of technology to ensure that legal safeguards for women are implemented efficiently across the country.
Within this framework, SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment electronic Box) serves as a digital platform aimed at strengthening the implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (PoSH Act).

The SHe-Box portal, originally launched on 29 August 2024, was developed to operationalize the provisions of the PoSH Act. While the earlier version of the platform provided a centralized mechanism for complaint registration, the increasing scale and complexity of workplace environments necessitated a more comprehensive, transparent, and accountable system—leading to the introduction of SHe-Box 2.0.
