About the Conclave
The 1st Juridical Conclave, to be held as an integral part of the NUJS Judgment Writing Competition, is conceived as a comprehensive academic forum aimed at bringing together law students from across the country to engage in rigorous and reflective discourse on constitutional law and its various aspects and nuances in India, along with the role of the judiciary in safeguarding constitutional values.
Theme
Anchored in delving into core juridical principles and judicial ethics, the Conclave will feature panel discussions and interactive sessions on themes such as the role of a judge in a court of law, the essentials of a well-reasoned judgment, and the broader responsibilities of judicial officers in a constitutional democracy, alongside wider burning issues of law, constitutionalism, and jurisprudence. The panels will comprise distinguished judicial officers, bureaucrats, academicians, jurists, and other eminent legal thinkers, offering participants a rare opportunity to engage directly with experienced voices shaping Indian constitutional and legal thought. Designed to be intellectually stimulating and participatory, the Conclave seeks to foster informed debate, deepen understanding of judicial decision-making, and inspire thoughtful engagement with the constitutional challenges of our time.
