Centre notifies transfer of 7 High Court Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the transfer of 7 HC Judges in April 2025 to infuse inclusivity and diversity and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice.

On 1-5-2025, the President of India, in exercise of power under Article 222(1) of the Constitution, transferred the following Judges to

  1. Justice Hemant Chandangoudar, transferred from Karnataka to Madras High Court

  2. Justice Neranahalli Srinivasan Sanjay Gowda, transferred from Karnataka to Gujarat High Court

  3. Justice Krishnan Natarajan, transferred from Karnataka to Kerala High Court

  4. Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad, transferred from Karnataka to Orissa High Court

  5. Dr. Justice Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao, transferred from Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka High Court

  6. Justice Kasoju Surendhar @ K. Surender, transferred from Telangana to Madras High Court

  7. Justice Perugu Sree Sudha, transferred from Telangana to Karnataka High Court

The transfer of the aforementioned Judges was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium in April 2025 in order to infuse inclusivity and diversity at the level of High Courts and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice.
