Supreme Court Collegium accedes to the requests of transfer made by 3 High Court Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium comprising of Dr Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice B.R. Gavai, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Aniruddha Bose on 13-02-2024 recommended the transfer of the following 3 High Court Judges in the interests of better administration of justice-

1. The Collegium acceded to the request of Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, High Court at Calcutta to be transferred to the High Court for the State of Telangana.

2. The Collegium acceded to the request of Justice Anu Sivaraman who had sought a transfer out of the State of Kerala. The Collegium thus recommended the transfer of Justice Anu Sivaraman to the High Court of Karnataka.

3. The Collegium acceded to the request of Justice Sujoy Paul who sought a transfer on the ground that his son is practicing in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh. The Collegium recommended that Justice Sujoy Paul be transferred to the High Court for the State of Telangana.
