About NALSAR:
NALSAR University of Law was established under the Andhra Pradesh Act 34 of 1998 as a fully residential National Law University, offering an integrated five-year law course. Indisputably, NALSAR is one of the country’s highest ranking law schools. NALSAR boasts of a new academic system that gives the students a great degree of agency in deciding which field they want to specialize in throughout their law school, cultivating a fresh and inclusive environment for learning. In addition, various clinics have been instituted to boost extra-curricular activities and awareness about societal needs, such as mooting, debating and dispute resolution.
About the Competition:
The NALSAR Mediation Tournament aims to promote mediation and negotiation skills among students in India. This tournament popularises mediation as an alternative dispute resolution method and career prospects for budding law enthusiasts. The aim of the competition is not only to give a platform to budding lawyers to showcase their ADR skills but also to bolster the engagement of the legal community with ADR across the globe.
NMT 3.0 is scheduled for the first week of February 2024 (2nd February – 4th February), where 24 teams representing leading Indian and International law schools will compete against each other in an exciting league format. The event will also witness participation from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) and International Arbitration and Mediation Center (IAMC), which will add a real-life flavor to the event and expose students to feedback from industry experts.
