The President of India has re-appointed Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta for another 3 years. In addition, the President also re-appointed six Additional Solicitors General of India for the Supreme Court for another 3 years.

The Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice issued a notification dated 30-06-2023 which notified the re-appointment of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta with effect from 1-07-2023. There are six Additional Solicitors General of India reappointed as per the said notification with effect from 30-06-2023 and 1-07-2023 respectively.

• Shri Vikramjit Banerjee

Earlier, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta was re-appointed 3 years ago with effect from 1-07-2020. Among the Additional Solicitors General re-appointed through the instant notification, ASG Aishwarya Bhati, ASG Balbir Singh, ASG N. Venkataraman, ASG Suryaprakash V. Raju were among the 6 Senior Advocates appointed as the Additional Solicitors General of India in the list of appointments as per 2020 notification. However, ASG K.M. Nataraj and ASG Vikramjit Banerjee were among the Additional Solicitors General re-appointed in 2020.
