Symbiosis Law School, Pune was established in 1977 with Mr. S.B Majumdar, the President of Symbiosis Society, envisioning an institution that imparts the values of care, courage and competence to the young society of this country, thus contributing to its betterment. Over the last four decades since its inception, Symbiosis Law School, Pune has established an ethic of pushing limits and surpassing expectations by consistently improving the quality of education and the surrounding infrastructure year after year. Over the last decade, however, we have attempted to broaden the horizon by adding a hefty cultural element to the college environment, with the objective of providing the students with a more holistic environment for growth. That has led to the genesis of what is now Symbhav, the biggest cultural fest in Pune.

Legal events have been an important part of the fest over the years and we consider it a great opportunity to experiment with different kinds of events and host events of the highest quality for all participants. This year we are breaking away from the normative formats of moot court competition, to host the ‘Nithin Patil Memorial Mono Advocacy Competition’ from 28th April 2021 to 29th April 2021 which will be held virtually.

This competition format will be aimed at testing the participants’ ability to present a case from a holistic perspective – testing everything from researching to oratory and deliberation skills. The competition format will involve each participant registering individually, and the individual will be expected to comprehend the four moot propositions (for each round) within the given time limit and engage in the oral pleadings. The rules and regulations for the event are attached as a separate document below.

Awards:

  1. Winner – Rs 8000
  2. Runner Up – Rs 5000
