F.No. 19(05)/TPT/Sectt/2017/63266— Whereas, the draft of the “Delhi Maintenance and Management of Parking Places Rules, 2019” was published as required under sub-section (1) of Section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), as amended from time to time by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Vide notification number 19(05)/TPT/Sectt/2017/22718 published in the Delhi Gazette Part-IV, Extraordinary dated the 13th June, 2019 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette of India containing the said notification were made available to the public.
And, whereas copies of the said Gazette Notification were made available to the public on the 13th June, 2019.
And, whereas the objections and suggestion received from the public in respect on the said draft have been considered.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (e), (h) and (i) of sub-section (2) of Section 138, read with Section 117, sub-section (3) of Section 127 and clause (41) of Section 2 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), as amended from time to time, the following rules are hereby made for the National Capital Territory of Delhi, namely :-
RULES
1. Short title, commencement, extent and applicability– (i) These Rules may be called the “Delhi Maintenance and Management of Parking Places Rules, 2019”.
ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.
iii) They shall save as expressly provided otherwise, apply to and in relation to all public parking spaces within the National Capital Territory of Delhi owned or managed by all public authorities.
iv) The Rules shall also be applicable in respect of parking places for the use of the general public such as Cinema Halls, Hospitals, Malls, Airports, etc.
