The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code passed by the Parliament is a welcome overhaul of the existing framework dealing with insolvency of corporates, individuals, partnerships and other entities. It paves the way for much needed reforms in the insolvency sector while focusing on creditor driven insolvency resolution.

Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, presents a half-day guest lecture on “Understanding Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016” by Padma ShriMr. T.K. Viswanathan, Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha, Government of India.  He was the Chairman of the Bankruptcy Laws Reforms Committee 2014 and he was responsible for drafting of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016.  He would also advice upon the prospects of choosing Insolvency as a career option for the potential lawyers.
