ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab through the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006), founding a law university of national stature. The University received Bar Council of India (BCI) approval in July 2006, and in May 2015 became the first and only National Law University (NLU) to receive NAAC accreditation with an ‘A’ grade. In 2018, RGNUL was among four NLUs granted autonomous status by the UGC, and it consistently ranks among India’s top 10 law schools under the NIRF (Ministry of Education, Government of India).
The School of Agricultural Law and Economics (SALE) is a Centre of Excellence at RGNUL dedicated to teaching and research in Agricultural Law and Economics, integrating law, economics, and policy to address challenges in agricultural marketing, insurance, tenancy, credit, standardisation, and international trade, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmental protection.
DETAILS OF THE EVENT
SALE, RGNUL presents the National Legislation Drafting Competition 2026 on the theme “Assured Price Mechanism in the Agricultural Sector.” Participants are invited to draft a robust statutory framework that expands guaranteed price assurance, currently confined largely to paddy and wheat under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system, to a wider variety of crops.
