The ADRC, School of Law, UPES, is honoured to invite your esteemed institution to participate in Madhyastham, the flagship Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) competition, organized as part of the Third Edition of Vidhi Utsav 2026, the annual legal fest of the School of Law, UPES.

UPES, Dehradun, is a leading multidisciplinary university recognized for its academic excellence, industry-integrated curriculum, and focus on experiential learning. The School of Law, UPES, is committed to nurturing skilled legal professionals through national-level competitions, research initiatives, and practical training platforms. The third edition of Vidhi Utsav embodies this vision by bringing together law students from across the country on a common academic and professional forum.

About Madhyastham

Madhyastham has, over the years, established itself as a premier national platform for experiential learning in ADR. The competition is designed to simulate real-world dispute resolution scenarios, enabling participants to develop core professional skills including client counselling, mediation, negotiation, communication, strategy formulation, and ethical problem-solving. Madhyastham seeks to advance the culture of consensual dispute resolution and prepare law students for contemporary legal practice.

Competition Segments & Schedule

The following ADR segments shall be organized under Madhyastham at the third edition of Vidhi Utsav 2026:

1. XI UPES Madhyastham Client Counselling Challenge, 2026

   ○ Online Rounds: 6th — 7th March 2026

   ○ Offline Rounds: 10th — 12th April 2026

2. VII UPES Madhyastham Mediation Challenge, 2026

   ○ Online Rounds: 15th — 16th March 2026

   ○ Offline Rounds: 10th — 12th April 2026

3. V UPES Madhyastham Negotiation Challenge, 2026

   ○ Online Rounds: 16th — 17 March 2026

   ○ Offline Rounds: 10th — 12th April 2026

Registration Guidelines

• Each participating college may register a maximum of two (3) teams per segment. (Last date to register- 27th Feb)
• Registrations shall be accepted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability of slots.

• Institutions are encouraged to register at the earliest to avoid missing the opportunity to participate.
