Decoding Boardroom Dynamics 2.0: National workshop, boardroom simulation & NCLT trial competition, 2026

The Corporate Law Committee, Presidency School of Law, Presidency University, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Bengaluru Chapter, SCC Times and Headway DM LLP, is organising “Decoding Boardroom Dynamics 2.0”, a two-day National Boardroom Simulation and NCLT Trial Competition on 16 and 17 October 2026. The event seeks to bridge academic learning and professional practice through realistic simulations of corporate governance, boardroom decision-making and NCLT proceedings, while fostering participants’ strategic thinking, negotiation, advocacy, corporate decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Its previous initiatives have covered corporate law, deal-making, securities regulation, boardroom practices, negotiations and insolvency law.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL WORKSHOP, BOARDROOM SIMULATION & NCLT TRIAL COMPETITION, 2026

The Corporate Law Committee, Presidency School of Law, proudly presents “Decoding Boardroom Dynamics 2.0”, a Two-Day National Workshop, Boardroom Simulation & NCLT Trial Competition on 16 & 17 October 2026, designed to bridge theory with practice in the evolving field of corporate governance. The two-day event combines insightful academic discussions with immersive boardroom and NCLT simulations, offering participants a unique opportunity to step into the roles of key corporate stakeholders and experience real-world corporate decision-making and dispute resolution.

Day 1 — Panel Discussion & Preliminary Boardroom Simulation: The first day will feature expert discussions on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and boardroom dynamics, followed by a Preliminary Boardroom Simulation involving 30 teams. The top 16 teams will qualify for Day 2.

Day 2 — Final Boardroom Simulation & NCLT Trial: The 16 qualifying teams will compete in the Final Boardroom Simulation, with the top 4 advancing to the NCLT Trial. Following the Semi-Final NCLT Round, the top 2 teams will compete in the Final NCLT Round to determine the champion.

ELIGIBILITY

The workshop welcomes a diverse pool of students keen to explore the intersection of law and corporate strategy, including:

1. Law Students (UG/PG)

2. Management Students (UG/PG)

3. Students enrolled in the Company Secretary Programme

VENUE

The National Workshop, Boardroom Simulation & NCLT Trial Competition, 2026, will be held offline at Presidency University, Bengaluru, on 16—17 October, 2026.

TEAM COMPOSITION

Participation takes place in two modes:

1. Team Participation: Each institution may nominate teams consisting of five (5) members, with each member being assigned a distinct role (Chairperson, Company Secretary, Independent Director, External Legal Counsel, Small Shareholder Director).

2. Individual Participation: Students may also register individually. Such participants will be grouped into composite teams by the Organising Committee and will be informed of their final team composition soon after the registration closes for the Competition, via the email address provided.
