ABOUT THE ORGANISER/ COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY

S.S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, is a Constituent College of the University of Allahabad. The college has been graded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) at ‘A’ grade in the last two cycles for sustaining high standards in teaching and continuous efforts in promoting girls’ education. The college has been granted affiliation for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) by the Bar Council of India as well as the University of Allahabad in the name of Saroj Lalji Mehrotra Centre of Legal Studies since 2019.

DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT

Saroj Lalji Mehrotra Centre of Legal Studies at S.S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, is pleased to host the 4th Justice Gopalji Mehrotra National Moot Court Competition, scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th November, 2026. The Competition is being organised in collaboration with Chandhiok & Mahajan, leading law firm of India, SCC Online as the exclusive Knowledge Partner and SCC Times as the exclusive Media Partner. The competition aims to foster research skills, enhance analytical and critical thinking, and showcase the art of persuasion through an exciting contest of legal minds.

The competition carries a prize money of Rupees Two Lakhs and Rupees One Lakh to the winning team and the runner-up team, respectively, along with several other prizes. The Moot Proposition for 4th Justice Gopalji Mehrotra National Moot Court Cometition, 2026 has been drafted by Ms. Deeksha Manchanda, Partner, Chandhiok & Mahajan, leading law firm of India.

WHO IS IT FOR/ ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE

The Competition is open to students who are currently enrolled in a Five-Year Integrated Course in Law in an institution that is officially recognised by the Bar Council of India. Each Institution is entitled to send only ONE team in the competition. The team shall, submit a bona fide letter issued by the Head of the Institution, authorizing them to participate on behalf of the institution. Each team shall consist of two speakers and one researcher. Once the registration is complete the Individuals in the team will not be allowed to be changed. Cross-institutional/mixed-team participation is not allowed.

The Competition will comprise two rounds: (i) Memorial Round and (ii) Oral Rounds. Sixteen highest scoring teams in the Memorial Round will only advance to the Oral Rounds.

MODE & LOCATION OF THE EVENT

The Oral rounds of the Competition will be held in physical mode at S.S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj.

REGISTRATION

  1. The teams shall provisionally register through the following link: https://forms.gle/88xrv4iyRZXyqVV19 no later than 10:00 PM IST, 15 September, 2026.

  2. Upon successful completion and submission of the Registration Form, the team will receive an email from the Organizers informing them of their successful registration within 48 Hours of Registration.

  3. Incomplete Registration Form shall not be accepted. The composition of the team cannot be changed once a team is registered.

  4. The teams successfully registering online as aforesaid will be provided a Unique Identification Code (UIC), which will be mentioned in the email informing the team of their Registration, and will be sent to the email address provided by the teams in the contact details, forming part of the Registration Form.

  5. Apart from the UIC, teams are requested not to display or add the names or logos of their Institution anywhere in any communication(s) addressed to the Organizers or in memorial/material submitted for the Competition.

  6. List of the shortlisted teams on the basis of the Memorial Selection Round will be released on 25 October, 2026.

  7. The shortlisted teams shall register themselves by paying the Registration Fee of Rs 3000/- (per team) no later than 10:00 PM IST 1 November, 2026.
