On 20 August 2026, the President, in exercise of powers conferred by Article 224(1) of the Constitution, appointed nine Advocates as Additional Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court. Significantly, three out the nine new Judge appointees are women.

On 4 May 2026, the Supreme Court Collegium led by CJI Surya Kant, recommended the appointment of the aforestated nine Advocates as Judges for the High Court of Punjab & Haryana.
