The Future of Dispute Resolution Is Digital. Are You Ready?
The next decade of legal practice will not look like the last. Disputes are being filed, argued and resolved online. Contracts are being drafted with AI. Legal workflows are being built on platforms. And the professionals who will thrive in this environment are those who understand not just the law, but the technology shaping how law is practised.
That is why CADRE and DY Patil School of Law have come together to offer the Certificate Course in Legal Tech and Digital Dispute Resolution — a 30-hour, practitioner-led programme designed for law students and early-career professionals who want to be ahead of the curve.
Who Is Behind This Course?
CADRE ODR (Centre for Alternate Dispute Resolution Excellence) is an online dispute resolution platform founded in 2019 and based in Bengaluru, India. It offers legally binding dispute resolution through arbitration and mediation to individuals and businesses across sectors including e-commerce, financial services and commercial disputes. Its core mission is to make dispute resolution accessible, affordable and jargon-free. The CADRE team comprises legal, technology and business professionals engaged in building and operating one of India’s recognised ODR platforms. As a practitioner organisation actively working at the intersection of law and technology, CADRE ODR brings to this programme direct operational experience of designing and running digital dispute resolution systems.
DY Patil School of Law is a constituent unit of DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai, a deemed university approved by the University Grants Commission and recognised by BCI, accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC reflecting high academic standards. The School of Law offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes that blend theoretical knowledge with practical exposure, designed to develop future leaders in the legal domain through critical thinking, ethical practice and hands-on learning through moot courts, internships and industry interactions. The School has active research centres including the Centre for Arbitration and Research which anchors its engagement with dispute resolution, legal technology and allied fields. It maintains partnerships with law firms, corporates and institutions across India and has a strong tradition of academia-industry collaboration.
What Is This Course?
This is not a lecture series. It is a structured, hands-on learning experience built around six modules covering everything from ADR foundations and the ODR landscape to AI in legal practice, trust and enforceability online, and how to design law into technology and product. It culminates in a live Arbitration and Mediation Lab and a Hackathon where participants build and pitch their own legal tech idea.
The course runs for 30 hours — 20 hours online through live and weekend sessions, and 10 hours on campus in Navi Mumbai for the labs, hackathon and capstone. It is taught by practitioners and builders who are actually shaping legal tech and dispute resolution, not just writing about it. On completion, participants receive a co-issued certificate from CADRE ODR and DY Patil School of Law along with 2 academic credits.
Who Should Apply?
The course is designed for law students and early career legal professionals looking to upgrade themselves at the intersection of law, technology and dispute resolution.
If you are a 3rd to 5th year law student — LL.B or B.A. LL.B — this course gives you hands-on exposure to ODR and legal tech through live simulations at a stage when most of your peers are still figuring out that these fields exist. You leave with a co-issued certificate, 2 academic credits and a credential that signals you are future-ready.
If you are an early-career professional with one to two years of post-qualification experience in practice, in-house or policy, this course gives you product literacy, ODR fluency and an understanding of where AI is taking legal practice — without stepping away from your work.

The course will be taught by leading practitioners and academics with background in ADR & ODR.
