SLS Noida RN Mittal National Memorial Moot Court Competition 2026

The Competition saw participation from 60 institutions across the nation

The Moot Court Society, Law Centre-I, under the aegis of the Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in collaboration with the R.N. Mittal Trust hosted the 1st R.N. Mittal National Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2026 held on April 24-26, 2026.

WINNERS

The team from Symbioisis Law School, Noida emerged as the winner compromising of Isha Kashyap, Dishita Lumba and Riddhima Joshi.

The team from St. Joseph’s College of Law, Bangalore secured the Runner-Up position. The team comprised of Sachin Gowda M, Harlton Lejo Joseph and K. Rishu Nanjappa.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

  • Best Speaker (Finals) — Isha Kashyap (Symbiosis Law School, Noida)

  • Best Speaker (Prelims) — Lavisha Bageja (Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi)

  • Best Researcher (TIE) — Akshita (School of Law, NFSU, Gandhinagar) and Jahnavi Sinha (Chandigarh University, Punjab)

  • Best Memorial (Petitioner) — Anusha Meher, Gaurisha Rastogi and Tvisha Chopra (University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIPU)

  • Best Memorial (Respondent) — Rose Bhatia, Nitya Jain and Purvi S Jain (O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat)

The competition saw participation from 60 teams across the nation, spread over three days.

The preliminary rounds were conducted on April 24, followed by the octa-finals and quarter-finals on April 25, with the semi-finals and grand finale concluding on April 26.

Participants grappled with a complex interplay of civil, criminal, and commercial law, navigating issues of real estate fraud, homebuyer protection under RERA, the interplay between insolvency moratorium and criminal prosecution of corporate directors, arbitration versus statutory adjudication, and the emerging jurisprudence on celebrity personality rights and unauthorized commercial exploitation of persona.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh at the Inaugural Ceremony

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India. The valedictory was presided over by Hon’ble Mr. Justice K.V. Viswanathan, Judge, Supreme Court of India, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Chief Justice, Delhi High Court.

The final round was presided over by Hon’ble Ms. Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora, Judge, Delhi High Court, and Hon’ble Ms. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna, Judge, Delhi High Court.
