PRIDE Journal Centre for Trans Studies call for papers 2026

PRIDE Journal of the Centre for Trans Studies is an annual, peer-reviewed and refereed journal published by the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India.

Centre for Trans Studies welcomes submissions from students and scholars across institutions.The journal aims to publish scholarly interdisciplinary research related to gender diversity, sexuality, experiences & issues of transpersons across time, space and cultures. Thrust areas of the journal are as follows:

  • Transgender Rights and Law Analysis of legal recognition, constitutional rights, anti-discrimination frameworks, and policy reforms affecting transgender and gender diverse communities.

  • Social and Cultural Dimensions Research on lived experiences, identity formation, family structures, cultural representation, and the intersection of caste, class, religion, and gender diversity.

  • Health and Well-Being Studies on healthcare access, mental health, reproductive rights, and inclusive medical practices for transgender and non-binary individuals.

  • Education and Institutional Practices Exploration of inclusive pedagogy, curriculum design, and institutional reforms that promote safe and affirming educational spaces.

  • Community Narratives and Activism Documentation of grassroots movements, advocacy strategies, and community-based initiatives that empower transgender voices and challenge systemic barriers.

  • Intersectionality and Global Perspectives Comparative and interdisciplinary scholarship that situates trans studies within broader frameworks of human rights, feminism, queer theory, disability studies, and global south perspectives.

Call for Papers:

PRIDE Journal of the Centre for Trans Studies (Peer Reviewed and Referred) Invites Papers for its forthcoming volume. The Last Date of Submission being 31st July, 2026.

Submission Guidelines:

PRIDE Journal of the Centre for Trans Studies welcomes original contributions. Contribution can be in the form of Research Article, Book Review, Testimonial, Case Comments in English language only. Articles (within range of 5000-8000words) should be in MS Word (.doc/.docx) format.

  1. An abstract not exceeding 150 words with 4-5 key words must accompany the article.

  2. Research work/article submitted for consideration for publication in the journal, should be original and not submitted/published elsewhere.

  3. The copyright of the articles and other contributions published in the PRIDE Journal of the Centre for Trans Studies vest with the Journal. Any reproduction of the contents of the Journal will have to be done with prior written permission from the Editors.

  4. Graphs, Tables and Charts in MS Office (Word/ excel format-Black and White) or equivalent format are preferred. Tables (if any) should be numbered consecutively. Title of the table must appear above the table and source at the bottom.

  5. Contributors must provide their full name, affiliations, complete postal address, email and contact number on the first page of the manuscript. These details should not appear anywhere else in body of manuscript except the first page as we follow blind peer review process.

  6. The review process takes at least 3-4 months approximately. The manuscripts not accepted for publication will not be sent back to contributors. The manuscripts lacking the recommended pattern and style can be rejected on this ground without any information to the contributor(s). The decision of Editorial Board will be final.

  7. Although articles shall be subject to rigorous editing process, the accuracy of quotations, titles, names, dates, charts, tables, footnotes, conclusion and recommendations etc. is solely the responsibility of the author(s).

  8. All manuscripts submitted will be checked on approved anti-plagiarism software of Panjab University. Manuscripts having more than 10 % plagiarism will not be considered.

Style Guidelines:

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Line Spacing: 1.5

  • Font Size: Title — 14 (Bold), Sub-Title — 12 (Bold), Text – 12.

  • Matter should be left aligned with one inch margin on all four sides

  • Citation Method: APA for Social Sciences Researches (7th Edition/ latest edition) and ILI for Law Researches.
