About the Organisers

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies was established in 2003 by the Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society. The Institute has attained a distinct position in offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including BBA, B.Com (Hons.), BA (Hons.) Economics, BA (Journalism and Mass Communication), BA LL.B (Integrated), BBA LL.B (Integrated), and LL.M. programmes in Intellectual Property Rights (introduced in 2022), Corporate Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (introduced in 2023). The Institute is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, and is accredited with an ‘A++’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

We collaborate and maintain excellent relationships with industry and leading corporate houses for training and internship opportunities. This gives our students an edge over others, which is reflected in our year after year high placement rates.

Details of the event

The competition is a 11-day mega event with ADRCC and Law fest of the Department of Law organized annually. The 6th edition is scheduled to be held from 13th March- 24th March, 2026. The fest will host various academic, literary & cultural competitions that will witness the participation of students from law schools and universities pan-India. Justice J. S. Verma Memorial ADR & Client Counselling Competition seeks to encourage the effective use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and to promote an open exchange of ideas, experience & technical know-how between students and legal professionals. The competition aims to combine the use of ADR and collaborative problem-solving skills of law students so as to successfully represent the litigating interests of parties and thus, proceed toward conflict resolution. We believe that this competition will foster an environment of understanding and encourage students to adopt better and faster means of dispute resolution. Alongside, the Department also presents Law Fest- NAVITAS which involves various literary competitions namely – Judgement Writing Competition, Constitution Quiz, Extempore Moot Court Competition (both English and Hindi), Creative Writing Competition, Article Writing Competition, Poetry Writing Competition, Comic Strip Writing Competition, Mock CIRP, Jus Quest- The Legal History Quiz & Tark-Kshetra – The Great Debate Competition (both English and Hindi).

Eligibility

Mediation: Each university/college may register for this competition with no restriction as to the number of teams per university/college. Students pursuing Law (3 year or 5 year courses) from any recognized Colleges or Universities across the Nation.

Client Counselling: Each university/college may register for this competition with a maximum of TWO teams per university/college. Students pursuing law (3-year or 5-year courses) belonging to recognized universities and institutions across the nation are permitted to participate in the competition.

Arbitration: Each university/college may register for this competition with no restrictions as to the number of teams per university/college. Students pursuing law (3-year or 5-year) courses from recognized institutions are only permitted to participate in the competition.

Negotiation: Each university/college may register for this competition with no restriction as to the number of teams per university/college. Students pursuing Law (3 year or 5 year courses) from any recognized Colleges or Universities across the Nation.

Extempore Moot Court:

  • The competition is open for students who are pursuing LLB three year / five-year courses during the current academic year.

  • Each team shall consist of two members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.

  • Both team members shall be designated as ‘Speakers’.

Creative Writing: Students (Undergraduate & Post-Graduate) of any recognized Colleges or Universities across the Nation.

Judgement Writing:

  • Students (undergraduate and post-graduate) of any recognized law colleges and universities.

  • Co-authorship of up to 1 participant is permitted.

Article Writing: Students (Undergraduate & Post- Graduate) of any recognized colleges & Universities across the Nation.

Tarkshetra:

  • Members of a team must be valid Undergraduate students pursuing a course recognized by competent authority.

  • One team comprises two participants, (ONE FOR THE MOTION AND ONE

    AGAINST THE MOTION). Both participants must be from the same

    College/Institute.

  • Students from same College / Institute can participate as a team.

Poetry Writing Competition: Students (Undergraduate & Post-Graduate) of any recognized Colleges or Universities across the Nation.

Hindi Moot Court:

  • The competition is open for students who are pursuing LLB three year / five-year courses during the current academic year.

  • Each team shall consist of two members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.

  • Both team members shall be designated as ‘Speakers’.

Constitutional Quiz: Students (Undergraduate & Post-Graduate) of any recognized College or University.

Comic Strip Writing Competition: Students (Undergraduate & Post-Graduate) of any recognized Colleges or Universities across the Nation.

Jus Quest: Students (Undergraduate & Post-Graduate) of any UGC recognized Colleges or Universities across the Nation

Mock CIRP Competition:

  • Professionals including CA, CS, CMA, CFO, Consultants, Advocates.

  • Law students (UG, PG, Ph.D. Scholars)

  • Commerce and management students or professionals with interest in IBC, finance & restructuring.

  • Each team shall consist of two members who will jointly prepare and present the Resolution Plan.

Location

  • Online Rounds (13th March — 15th March): The competition begins in the online mode with the Inaugural Ceremony on 13th March, setting the stage for what follows. On 14th March, the Preliminary Rounds of ADRCC Competitions and Tark-Kshetra will be conducted online, along with the submission deadlines for Judgement Writing, Poetry Writing, and Comic Strip Making Competitions, and the complete event of Extempore Moot (English). The online phase continues on 15th March with the Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals of ADRCC, alongside the complete event of the Hindi Moot Court Competition, bringing the virtual rounds to a strong close.

  • Offline Rounds (16th March — 24th March): Transitioning into the offline mode, 16th March will witness the Constitutional Law Quiz and Jus Quest — The Legal History Quiz, bringing participants together in person for an engaging face-to-face experience. The competition then builds to its peak on 23rd March with the Final Rounds of ADRCC Competitions held offline, where the best teams will battle it out for the top honours. The event culminates grandly with the Valedictory Ceremony on 24th March, marking a memorable and celebratory conclusion to the entire competition.

A. Mediation Competition

Focus: Collaborative problem-solving and neutral facilitation.

Fee: ₹3,500 (inclusive of GST).

Prize Pool: ₹63,000 total (Best Pair: ₹21,000; Runner-up Pair: ₹14,000; Best Team: ₹10,000; Best Mediator: ₹9,000; Best Plan: ₹5,000).

Deadline: 10th March 2026 (Registration); 12th March 2026 (Mediation Plan).

B. Client Counselling Competition

Focus: Legal advice, ethics, and building client rapport.

Fee: ₹3,150 (inclusive of GST).

Prize Pool: ₹39,000 total (Best Team: ₹15,000; Best Advocate: ₹7,000; Best Client: ₹7,000; Runner-up: ₹10,000).

Deadline: 8th March 2026.

C. Negotiation Competition

Focus: Interest-based bargaining and strategic planning.

Fee: ₹3,150 (inclusive of GST).

Prize Pool: ₹24,000 total (Winner: ₹12,000; Runner-up: ₹9,000; Best Plan: ₹3,000).

Deadline: 10th March 2026 (Registration); 12th March 2026 (Negotiation Plan).

D. Arbitration Competition

Focus: Formal adjudicatory processes and oral advocacy.

Fee: ₹3,150 (inclusive of GST).

Prize Pool: ₹25,000 total (Best Team: ₹11,000; Runner-up: ₹8,000; Best Memorial: ₹6,000).
