On 30-1-2026, the Ministry of Labour and Employment notified that the wage ceiling for a person employed in a supervisory capacity will be ₹18,000 per month.
Thus, any person working in a supervisory role and drawing wages exceeding ₹18,000 per month shall be excluded from the definition of “worker” under the said clause.
This step classifies supervisory employees earning above ₹18,000 per month outside the definition of “worker” under the Code on Wages, 2019.
