About the University:

The University of Lucknow, a thriving academic community comprising over 10,000 students and staff, is a distinguished public state university situated in the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1867, it holds the honor of being one of India’s oldest government-owned institutions of higher learning. The primary campus, located at Badshah Bagh in the University Road area, is complemented by a second campus in Jankipuram. Lucknow University has garnered accreditation from prestigious bodies such as the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), BCI (Bar Council of India), and NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). Founded in 1920, it stands as a prominent public state university, offering an extensive array of more than 82 undergraduate and postgraduate courses across diverse fields of study.

About the Faculty:

Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow is one of the leading Legal Institutions in India. It was established in 1921 with three teachers. Mr. Jag Mohan Nath Chak served as its first Dean. The real architect was Prof. R.U. Singh who with great zeal and enthusiasm organized teaching and research in the faculty in a systematic way. He held the office of the Dean, of the Faculty of Law till 1956. He also structured the Law Faculty of Delhi and Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The distinction of having drafted the Constitution of Nepal is his to claim.

Dr. V N. Shukla, the well-known authority on Constitutional Law was the first LL.M. of the University. His book on Indian Constitution is still an authoritative text. Mr. A.T. Markose was the first LL.D. of the Faculty. He also held the office of Director, at the Indian Law Institute, and was a Member of the Administrative Tribunal, International Court of Justice.

This committee is committed to enhancing the college experience for students and facilitating the showcase of their remarkable talents. At the helm of the LUCSC are the President, Convener, and Co-convenor, who lead with passion, vision, and unwavering dedication. They provide the committee with direction, set goals, and oversee its various initiatives. Working in collaboration with these student leaders is the Teacher Coordinator, who offers guidance, mentorship, and valuable insights to ensure the committee’s success.

Sanskriti Surabhi 2024 – A Grand Celebration of Culture and Talent

The Lucknow University Cultural and Sports Committee (LUCSC) proudly presents the 15th edition of Sanskriti Surabhi 2024, a week-long extravaganza brimming with excitement, creativity, and competition. Scheduled from “26th November to 30th November 2024”, this cultural and sports fest is a melting pot of talents, providing students with a platform to showcase their skills across a myriad of domains, fostering a spirit of unity, and celebrating the diverse essence of life.

Theme: This year’s theme revolves around “Stabilising the Unstable“, encapsulating the essence of art, culture, and sports that transcend boundaries. Sanskriti Surabhi aims to unite participants from different walks of life under one vibrant banner, encouraging artistic expression, intellectual stimulation, and physical prowess.

Event Highlights

The fest boasts an impressive lineup of events spread across various categories:

1. “E-Sports: Dive into the thrilling world of gaming with competitions in popular games like “BGMI, 8 Ball Pool, Mini Militia, Clash Royale, and Free Fire Max”.

2. “Cultural Events: Celebrate the richness of performing arts with events such as Alaap (Solo Singing), Dynamic Duo (Duet Singing), Natraj (Solo Dancing), and Nrityanjali (Group Dancing). Theater lovers can explore the magic of storytelling with Nukkad Natak, Mono Acts, and both Hindi” and “English Poetry Competitions”.
