ABOUT VSLLS, VIPS-TC

Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS) of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) is committed to realizing the words of Swami Vivekananda: “Man Making, Character Building and Nation Building”. Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies is affiliated with Guru Gobind Indraprastha University, recognized by Bar Council of India and UGC under section 2(f), with NAAC ‘A++’ accreditation, is well known for its robust efforts in legal education. Dr. S.C. Vats, Chairman, of VIPS, a great philanthropist and educationist believes in perfection. Thus, the motto of VIPS is “in pursuit of perfection”. With his broad vision and guidance, since the inception of VIPS, in the year 2000, it has produced nineteen gold medallists, twenty-plus judicial officers along with lawyers placed with highly reputed industries, law firms and senior advocates as also government and non-government establishments. Currently, the Law School of VIPS is running the programmes B.A.LL.B., B.B.A.LL.B., and LL.M. in its own hi-tech, Wi-Fi-enabled campus in Delhi. Students with higher ranks in CET conducted by GGSIP University are preferring admission to VIPS.

ABOUT CENTRE FOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, VSLLS, VIPS-TC

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (“CIPR”) was established with the objective of enhancing the Intellectual Property knowledge base. It attempts to disseminate information about intellectual property rights with a view to create awareness amongst the general public about the regime of Intellectual Property Right laws.

The foundation of the Centre was laid in the year 2020 under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Neeru Nakra. The aim of the Centre is to support academic and policy-oriented dialogue in the individual and intersectional areas of innovation and Intellectual Property.

CIPR intends to focus on a realm of activities as the field of Intellectual Property Rights is ever-growing. Knowledge in the field requires one to be in constantly aware all of the developments taking place, and with this aim the Centre has been established in VIPS.

CIPR aspires to conduct more workshops, conferences, seminars, field visits to guide the students of law connect the theoretical with the practical. CIPR alms to promote creativity and dialogue on emerging issues in the field of IPR. The increasing importance of intangible assets, like intellectual property (IP) has made this system even more attractive.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The National Research Paper Writing competition aims to offer young scholars a platform to demonstrate their research, comprehension skills, analytical and critical thinking to explore a broad spectrum of complex and intriguing questions beyond the standard academic curriculum. CIPR seeks to promote research, comprehension, writing and other critical skills by this competition

Participants are encouraged to analyse and explore new areas of innovation to foster and enhance the existing landscape related to Intellectual Property. It is pertinent to mention that the opportunity will foster a deeper understanding of the realm of IPR laws, by enabling the students to practically apply the laws they have studied.

ELIGIBILITY & MODE

This competition is open to students, academicians, and researchers from all disciplines nationwide and the competition will be conducted in the Virtual/ Online Mode.

REGISTRATION FEE

  1. Single Authorship: Rs. 400/- (Rupees Four-hundred only)

  2. Co-authorship: Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six-hundred only)

Note: Co-authorship is permitted upto two authors only.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The research article should include an abstract of 250-300 words.

  • The word limit of the paper shall be 3000-4000 words (exclusive of footnotes).

  • The font style of the paper should be Times New Roman with font size being 12 for the main text and 10 for the footnotes.

  • The line spacing for the main text and footnotes should be 1.5 and 1 respectively (Endnotes are not permitted).

  • The citation format to be followed is Bluebook Citation 20th edition citation/Format shall be followed for the same. It has been annexed for reference.

  • The paper must be submitted in .pdf format.

  • A maximum of 20% plagiarism is permitted. Any paraphrasing or verbatim content without proper citation will be considered plagiarism. The use of Al tools like ChatGPT must be justified with appropriate referencing.

AWARDS / INCENTIVES

The winners of the competition will be eligible for attractive prize money and e-certificates of merit. Additionally, all participants will receive e-certificates of participation.

  • Registration Opens: 30th September, 2024

  • Registration Closes: 15th October, 2024

  • Last Date to Submit Research Articles: 15th November, 2024

  • Announcement of Results: 25th November, 2024
