Rouse Avenue Court: Special Judge Kaveri Baweja remanded Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha to Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till 09-04-2024 in the Delhi liquor policy scam.
On 23-03-2024, the Court extended her custody for 3 days i.e., till 26-03-2024.
K Kavitha, MLC, Telangana Legislative Council was arrested by ED on 15-03-2024 in the case of Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. The Special PMLA Court, New Delhi had remanded her for ED custodial interrogation for 7 days till 23-03-2024 vide order dated 16-03-2024. ED’s investigation revealed that K Kavitha along with others conspired with the top leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia for getting favours in the Delhi Excise policy-formulation and implementation. It was alleged that in exchange for these favours, she was involved in paying Rs. 100 Crore to the leaders of AAP. The ED has conducted searches on 245 locations across the country including Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and other places. 15 Persons including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Vijay Nair from AAP have been arrested in the case so far.
