The Debating and Literary Society of Government Law College, Mumbai is extremely proud to present an extension of the 8th Edition Policy Debate 2023, the Policy Review. We are inviting submissions from students from all undergraduate courses.

Competition Details

The Policy Review is organised by the Debating and Literary Society of GLC, Mumbai. The review involves submissions from students from all across the country on the same subject as the Policy Debate and serves as a great opportunity to expand the scholarship and literary discourse on the topic.

The theme for the 8th Policy Review is “UCC: Searching for Unity in a Diverse India”

Subthemes for the Submissions:

  1. UCC: A Question of Identity for the Tribal Communities

  2. Personal Laws Across Borders: A Comparative Analysis

  3. UCC: Boost or Roadblock to Women’s Rights

  4. Goa’s Civil Code: Exemplary or Irreplicable.

  5. Inclusion of Sexual and Gender Minorities in a Probable UCC

Eligibility:

All undergrad students across various fields

Awards and Certificates:

1st Prize : Rs. 5000/-

2nd Prize: Rs. 3000/-

3rd Prize : Rs. 2000/-

And Participation certificates for all.

Guidelines for the Submissions:

  1. Submissions for Policy Review should not exceed the word limit of 1500 words (inclusive of endnotes).

  2. Co-authorship of a total of two authors is permitted.

  3. All submissions must be in the Word (.docx/.doc) format, along with the following guidelines

  4. Font – Times New Roman, Size 12

  5. Page Border – 1 inch on all sides.

  6. Citation – All sources must be appropriately cited by using hyperlinks. Wherever, hyperlinks are not available, endnotes can be used by conforming to the MLA citation method.

  7. Plagiarism above 15% will not be condoned
