The Government of New York City has issued a coronavirus vaccine mandate for private employers in New York on December 6, 2021.

Under the new mandate for private employers, employees who work in-person at private companies must have one dose of the vaccine by December 27, 2021. Remote workers will not be required to get the vaccine. There is no testing option as an alternative.

The mandate shall come into effect from on December 27. Hence, the in-person workers will have to provide proof that they have received at least one dose of the vaccine and that they will not be allowed to get out of the requirement by agreeing to regular COVID-19 testing instead.
