The Legal Aid Committee, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University Lucknow is ecstatic to announce the VII Edition of the 2TG-RMLNLU International Mediation Competition 2021, that is scheduled to be held virtually over two weekends of 13-14th March and 19th-21st March 2021.

About the Competition

Since its inception in 2012, the ADR wing of the Legal Aid Committee of RMLNLU has always aspired to further its commitment of promoting ADR mechanisms by making the young minds more involved in dispute resolution processes to peacefully resolve discord and promote conciliation and peace making. Using the Coronavirus crisis as an opportunity, the VII Edition of the 2TG- RMLNLU Mediation Competition will be going digital for the first time. It raises the bar even higher by going International, thus providing the perfect opportunity for participants to dive headfirst into meaningful colloquy, test their mental dexterity, resolve confounding problems, brainstorm strategic solution, but most significantly, beat the Pandemic blues.

About 2 Temple Gardens

2TG, a UK based Barristers Chambers, was established over 70 years ago and is home to 62 barristers practising in both distinct and related areas of expertise. 2TG is known for its specialist expertise, shared knowledge and experience. The barristers appear in courts and arbitral tribunals at all levels throughout the UK and overseas.

Format

The competition seeks to provide a platform to the dynamic legal minds from all over the world to enhance their legal acumen and explore the upcoming fields of mediation and Negotiation. The event shall consist of two preliminary rounds, followed by the Quarter Final, Semi Final and Finals rounds.

Eligibility

We wish to invite teams compromising of two students (one mediator and one negotiator) from your esteemed institution. The registration is restricted to one slot though an additional slot might be available later. Full time or part time students pursuing the undergraduate or post graduate programme are allowed to participate.

Registration Procedure

There are two steps for the registration process for the competition, the application and the selection. The application for a slot has to be made by filling the form, the link to which may be found below, latest by 10th February.

The provisional application form is a confirmation of the intention of the participation of a College\University and the respective teams are requested to fill the same by the mentioned date.

After the confirmation of the intention to participate, the Universities\Colleges which have completed the provisional application will be requested to complete the final process via a form which will seek details of prospective teams. This shall be provided in the acknowledgement of the provisional email. Failure to complete the registration process before 25th February shall result in forgoing the slot.

The Legal Aid Committee will announce the final shortlisted teams who have qualified for the competition by 15th February. The selected teams will then have to complete the formalities of registration by 25th February.

The selection of the teams is completely on the discretion of the legal Aid Committee. The registration fee is Rs 4500 for Indian participants and $65 for non- Indian participants. The link for the same will be sent at the time of final registration.
