The team comprising of Mr. Akshay Sharma (Batch of 2020), Ms.Lavanya Pathak (batch if 2021) and Ms. Ananya Jha (batch of 2020) represented National University of Study and research in Law (NUSRL, Ranchi) at the 34th Jean Pictet Competition, 2020 held at Denpassar Indinesia from 07.03.2020 to 14.03.2020 and emerged as Semi-Finalist.
The team was the only Indian team which qualified to the advanced Rounds of the Competition and faced the New York University in the semi finals.
About the Competition: The competition is being organised from the year 1989 by the Concurs Jean Pictet committee along with International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in different country every year. The competition is unique in itself as it’s a real life simulation of a armed conflict where the participants played the role of various parties to the conflict by keeping in mind the legal obligation and political policy of such parties.
Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the event was graced by distinguished judges such as Mr. Alexandre Faite, Head, Regional Delegation of ICRC for Indonesia, Prof. Emiliona J Buis, Prof. Rebecca Sutton, IFRC Advisor Mr. Christopher Rassi among others.
