We are extremely glad to inform that Mr. P. Chidambaram would be delivering a talk on ‘Union Budget 2018-19’ on 24-02-2018, from 3 pm to 4:00 pm as part of NALSAR Lecture Series on Constitutionalism. Mr. Chidambaram is a Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court and Member of Rajya Sabha. He has formerly served as Union Minister of Finance and Home Affairs of India.
Mr. Chidambaram has frankly spoken on the major economic issues of the country, from Demonetisation to GST as well as economic distress looming over India. His talk comes at a time when the arguments are being raised that the budget, which interestingly was the last budget of the Modi Government before 2019 elections, has neglected the interests of the Indian Middle Class.
