NLU Jodhpur USIEF international symposium 2026

National Law University Jodhpur, in association with the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), are pleased to announce the International Symposium on “Understanding Representative Governance: Legislative Processes of the United States Congress and the Indian Parliament from a Comparative Perspective”, to be held on 1 August 2026.

Organised as part of the broader USA Freedom 250 commemorations, the Symposium seeks to foster comparative engagement with the constitutional histories, legislative institutions, and democratic practices of India and the United States. The event will feature distinguished speakers, including visiting Fulbright Specialist Prof. Paul Koster, and provide a platform for scholars, students, researchers, and academicians to examine contemporary challenges in representative governance through a comparative lens.

We invite submissions of research synopses on the Symposium theme and its indicative sub-themes. Selected participants will present their papers before expert reviewers, with outstanding contributions being considered for publication in the Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal (CALJ).
