GPCB online document submission XGN Portal

On 5 June 2026, the Gujarat Pollution Control Board issued a notification regarding discontinuation of Physical Submission of documents or reports to promote ease of compliance, improve administrative efficiency, and facilitate paperless governance.

Now, the Gujarat Pollution Control Board has enabled online submission of various applications, reports, returns, and compliance documents through the XGN Portal.

The notification came into force on 5 June 2026.

Reason:

It was observed that Industries/ Health Care Facilities continue to submit certain documents physically at Regional Offices and Head Office despite availability of online submission facilities through XGN Portal.

The physical submission of following documents at any Regional Office or Head Office will not be accepted:

  1. Response against Notice of Entry issued during inspections.

  2. Reply/compliance against Show Cause Notices, Notices of Directions, Closure Directions, and other directions issued by the Board.

  3. Annual Return (Form-IV) under Hazardous and Other Waste Management Rules.

  4. Annual Return under Biomedical Waste Rules.

  5. Environmental Statement (Form-V).

  6. Environmental Audit Reports.

  7. Half-Yearly Reports, Annual Reports.

Directions for the Industry/ Health Care Facilities:

  1. To ensure timely uploading of the above-mentioned documents through the XGN Portal within the stipulated time.

  2. To treat the date and time of online submission as the official submission.

Exceptions:

  1. Where the Board has specifically asked for physical submission through written communication.

  2. In cases where the Industries/ Health Care Facilities are required to submit the Bank Guarantee, an original copy of the same has to be submitted to the Head Office registry branch.

  3. Units that are not registered with Gujarat Pollution Control Board in XGN Portal will be required to submit documents physically.
