About the 5th National Mediation Competition (NMC 5.0)

The 5th National Mediation Competition (NMC 5.0) serves as a premier arena for law students to engage in the practice of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Aimed at encouraging the adoption of mediation, negotiation, and client-counsel strategies, this esteemed competition offers participants a chance to display their proficiency in resolving disputes amicably and effectively. The event will be held in hybrid mode, with the preliminary rounds conducted online and the semi-finals and finals hosted offline at the prestigious Amity University Madhya Pradesh in Gwalior.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The competition is open to undergraduate law students currently enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs at recognized law universities and colleges across India.

  • Each team must comprise three members: one mediator and a pair of counsel-client (negotiating pair).

Competition Format & Important Dates

Hybrid Mode:

  • Preliminary Rounds: Online (29th—30th September 2025)

  • Semi-Finals & Finals: Offline at Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior

    (14th—15th October 2025)

Please note that registration will only be confirmed upon the successful submission of the registration form along with the requisite payment. Given that slots are limited, teams will be accommodated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Fee Details

  • Registration Fee: ₹4,500 per team

  • Accommodation Fee: ₹2,000 per person (only applicable for teams qualifying for the semi-finals and finals)

Payment details will be provided within the registration form.

Prizes

The competition boasts an impressive prize pool of ₹1,00,000, with the total prize amount being ₹80,000 distributed among the best-performing teams. This substantial reward is designed to recognize and honor the exceptional talent and skill demonstrated in mediation and dispute resolution.
