The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), through its circular dated 9 October 2026, with subject being “Establishment of State-of-the-Art Medical Facilities for the Members of the Bar”, has announced that the Supreme Court has agreed to establish a new state-of-the-art medical facility near D-Block within the Court premises, with upgraded infrastructure and additional medical services for the benefit of members of the Bar.
The development follows sustained efforts by the present SCBA Executive Committee, including repeated representations and written communications to the Supreme Court, highlighting the inadequacy of the medical facilities previously available near D-Block.
According to the circular, the proposed facility will provide essential diagnostic and healthcare services such as —
-
X-ray services
-
Dental care
-
Blood-testing facilities
-
Other diagnostic services with essential medical investigations
Along with the aforementioned, additional doctors will also be made available to facilitate timely medical consultations and improve access to healthcare for Members of the Bar.
The SCBA has stated that the proposed facilities are expected to become operational within 15 days after the Dussehra holidays, subject to the completion of the requisite arrangements.
Expressing its gratitude, SCBA acknowledged the consideration and continued support of the Chief Justice of India and the Supreme Court in strengthening medical infrastructure and promoting the health and welfare of members of the Bar.
