The Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow invites school, undergraduate and postgraduate students to participate in the first Bharatiya Yuva Chhatra Sansad 2026, a youth parliament simulation focused on parliamentary discourse, democratic engagement, leadership and critical thinking.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:

The Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, is pleased to extend a cordial invitation to the First Edition of the Bharatiya Yuva Chhatra Sansad 2026 (BYCS 2026), themed “Viksit Bharat @2047: Path to Development, Growth and Future Opportunities.”

The Sansad seeks to simulate the functioning of the Indian Parliament, providing young minds with a dynamic platform for parliamentary discourse, democratic engagement, and intellectual deliberation. It is carefully structured to nurture public speaking, leadership, critical thinking, research, and parliamentary skills among school, undergraduate, and postgraduate students.

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:

The Bharatiya Yuva Chhatra Sansad (BYCS) is an initiative of the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, founded in 1921 and consistently ranked among India’s premier law schools – 29th among the top law schools in the country as per NIRF rankings. Through this initiative, the Faculty seeks to foster constitutional values, democratic consciousness, constructive dialogue, and responsible citizenship among the youth of the nation.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  1. ELIGIBILITY-

    • School Students (IX-XII),

    • Under-Graduate Students, and

    • Post-Graduate Students.

  2. REGISTRATION FEES- Each participant shall submit the following registration fee:

    • INR 799/- (For Bharatiya Yuva Chhatra Sansad – per individual)

    • INR 249/- (For Press/Media Competition – per individual)

  3. MODE- The Sansad shall be conducted in offline mode at the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow.

  4. COMMITTEES AND SIMULATIONS- Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Youth Policy Forum, and Press and Media.

  5. AGENDAS- Participants are required to choose any ONE of the following:

    • Uniform Civil Code;

    • Electoral Reforms;

    • Digital India & Data Privacy;

    • Women’s Empowerment;

    • Education Policy Reforms;

    • Constitutional Morality; and

    • Role of Youth in Nation Building.

  6. AWARDS:

    • Best Delegate Award – Trophy, medal, 10,000 cash prize, and certificate of appreciation.

    • Best Speaker Award – Trophy, medals, cash prize, and certificate of appreciation.

    • Best Questioner Award (Press/Media) – Trophy, 5,000 cash prize, and certificate of appreciation.

    • Certificates of participation shall be given to all participants present at the Valedictory Ceremony. Certificates shall not be sent by post/courier under any circumstances.

  7. IMPORTANT DATES:

    • 15th September, 2026- Last date of registration and online payment.

    • 22nd September, 2026- Day 1 of the Sansad.

    • 23rd September, 2026- Day 2 of the Sansad
