The Bar Council of India has issued strict Digital Ethics Guidelines for advocates, law students and interns. The rules prohibit courtroom reels, client testimonials, legal solicitation, deepfakes, misinformation, and disclosure of confidential information. The BCI says professional ethics apply online just as much as in court.
